“Journal of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences” Receives High Academic Recognition

The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Corr. Member Evelina Slavcheva, presented the Gold Honorary Plaque of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to Acad. Ivan Ivanov, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The distinction was awarded on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of the journal’s first issue and acknowledges the overall contribution of the editorial team to the advancement of science and the cultural development of Bulgarian society.

The Journal of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences continues the tradition of the Periodical Journal of the Bulgarian Literary Society, whose first edition was published in Braila in 1870 and is now preserved in the Central Library of BAS. For more than a century and a half, the journal has fulfilled the mission set by Marin Drinov: to educate, to promote the achievements of Bulgarian science, and to reflect the development of scientific life in Bulgaria and around the world.

The Gold Honorary Plaque of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences award highlights the journal’s role as one of the oldest and most respected scientific publications in Bulgaria and recognizes the efforts of its editors to uphold high academic standards and the enduring traditions of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
